AERALIS expands Senior Engineering Team

20 March 2019

AERALIS are pleased to announce the expansion of their Senior Engineering Team with three new appointments.

Peter Curtis is welcomed to the team as the Senior Aerodynamicist, bringing with him a wealth of experience in aerodynamic optimisation and powerplant integration. Peter has had senior involvement in a number of high-profile aircraft development programmes, including Harrier, Nimrod and Lightning II, starting his career with BAE Systems and later working as the Chief Technical Officer for the Aircraft Research Association. Peter will lead the AERALIS aerodynamics team and support the integration of the powerplant into the platform.

Joining AERALIS on secondment from Atkins is Richard Lees, taking up the position as Senior Integration Engineer. Richard has worked on a range of civil and military Airbus aircraft programmes including A400M, A350XWB and A380, covering structures, fuel systems and landing gear. Richard will oversee the integration of aircraft systems and subsystems, working closely with the AERALIS technology partners to ensure the interoperability across the aircraft family.

Finally Martin Wilkinson takes on the role of Senior Propulsion Advisor, supporting the AERALIS engineering team with powerplant integration in all variants of the aircraft. Martin started his career with BAE Systems and predecessor companies on Concorde in Filton before moving north where he ran engineering teams working on a variety of platforms including Tornado, Nimrod MRA4, and Eurofighter Typhoon.

The significant levels of knowledge and experience that Peter, Richard and Martin bring to the AERALIS Senior Engineering Team will be invaluable to the design of the AERALIS family of aircraft.
