British military jet developer, AERALIS, has partnered with The Percy Hobart Fellowship to help upskill the Royal Navy’s workforce and support the service’s digital transformation.

Run by PUBLIC for the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, The Percy Hobart Fellowship is a cutting-edge training programme for officials, officers & NCOs which offers immersive education from innovative defence industry companies.

For the duration of the 12-week course, 43 Fellows will be seconded into defence technology companies where they will learn first-hand about the development of ideas, commercial forecasting, modelling and business scaling. They will also receive one-to-one weekly mentoring and coaching sessions from a faculty of expert coaches, including serial entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and performance coaches.

As a host company, AERALIS will welcome two Fellows from the Royal Navy, Aircraft Engineering Technician Wayne Reed and Weapon Engineer Steve Spiller. Through the programme’s mini-MBA syllabus, the Fellows will be introduced to the diversity and culture of the start-up ecosystem and learn more about the spirit of ingenuity that has led to the conception of AERALIS’ modular aircraft design.

This year’s edition of The Percy Hobart Fellowship sees, for the first time, a mixed cohort showcasing a united enterprise seeking to strengthen their digital foundations through collaboration.

AERALIS CEO, Tristan Crawford said: “The Percy Hobart Fellowship is an exciting initiative that aims to integrate SMEs with the Royal Navy and RAF and enable an exchange of skills and knowledge. Our team at AERALIS is delighted to be part of this programme, and we look forward to welcoming Wayne and Steve and helping them develop key learnings that will translate into tangible benefits for the Royal Navy.”
