โPhoenixโ was announced as the winner on National STEM Day last November, and our branding team have now designed the Phoenix logo, which will be carried on the aircraft.
The name was selected from more than 800 submissions after hours of deliberation by a panel consisting of senior members from AERALIS and representatives from the RAF, including Air Vice-Marshal Simon Edwards , RAF Director People, and Air Commodore Tony Keeling, Commandant RAF Air Cadets.
A total of 15 cadets suggested โPhoenixโ, and in line with competition rules the winner was picked at random to ensure absolute fairness. The runners up also received AERALIS gift bundles.
Congratulations to Ollie, who received a prize bundle and an invitation to meet the team at our headquarters in Bristol and learn more about our programme. We look forward to welcoming Ollie in the near future.
Our thanks to all of the Air Cadets who got engaged with Mission:001 and submitted names โ the panel was really impressed with how well these young aviation enthusiasts had researched and explained their suggestions.
Look out for more competitions in the future, as AERALIS continues to engage the UKโs aerospace talent of tomorrow with the next generation of British aviation.
