Mission: 001 Winner visits AERALIS HQ
Sergeant Ollie Hill of 2401 Dawlish Squadron Air Training Corps – the winner of our Mission:001 competition to name AERALIS’s first test aircraft – cashed in one of his prizes last week with a visit to the AERALIS HQ in Bristol.
As you might recall, Ollie’s name was drawn from a group of 15 Air Cadets that put forward the winning name of ‘Phoenix’.
Ollie and his father, who accompanied him on the day, met the AERALIS team and were given behind-the-scenes insights to the cutting-edge digital engineering being done to develop Phoenix and the wider AERALIS modular aircraft system.
Ollie commented on his day: “I just wanted to say, ‘Thank you!’ for our visit to the AERALIS headquarters. Both my dad and I had a great time and really enjoyed meeting the team and learning more about the AERALIS programme. I’m looking forward to seeing AERALIS Phoenix fly!”
2401 Dawlish Squadron posted to their Facebook: “Awe inspiring and amazed to learn that the presentation [Ollie] saw today has never been given to a member of the public, and normally given to MPs, and MOD hierarchy.” See the full post here: https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=421734787152801&id=100079488498944&mibextid=WC7FNe&rdid=X4ovyNbugzKYe3U7
