AERALIS AND CDS DEFENCE & SECURITY TO COLLABORATE ON AERSIDE DEVELOPMENT

12 November 2024

AERALIS and Cheltenham-based consultancy, CDS Defence & Security, have signed a collaboration agreement for the development of the digital pathway for AERSIDE – the Smart Integrated Digital Enterprise at the heart of the AERALIS air system.

As an end-to-end digitally designed and engineered aerospace programme, AERALIS is pioneering a digital thread that will persist throughout the entire lifetime of its Common Core Fuselages (CCFs) and interchangeable system of modules for wings, cockpit, engine, nacelle, and empennage – from digital drawing board to disposal.

AERSIDE will centralise data for performance, reliability, safety, support, maintenance, supply chain, training and more, across the whole AERALIS air system. The integration of this data is instrumental in maintaining configuration control, data assurance, and digital certification – a field in which AERALIS has made groundbreaking advancements, shared at its ‘Helix’ event earlier this month.

Ryan Griffin, Business Unit Head of Support Engineering at CDS Defence & Security, commented:

“Having all the support data and tools integrated with the engineering source will be another advancement for AERALIS and CDS Defence & Security. It will enable data driven decisions for achieving costs optimisation, operational effectiveness, supply chain resilience, and advanced risk mitigation. It could become extraordinarily powerful.”
