AERALIS: THERE IS MORE AT STAKE THAN THE RED ARROWS…

11 April 2025

Yesterday’s news focused attention on the Red Arrows, but there is a bigger issue at stake – the future of Britain’s fast jet training.

AERALIS was founded to deliver the best option for the Royal Air Force (RAF), while enabling the UK to capitalise on the enormous opportunities presented by developing a new sovereign aircraft; for exports, high skilled jobs and growth to the economy.

Uniquely, the AERALIS programme can deliver all these benefits in a timeframe that meets the needs of the Red Arrows and the RAF, with no capital cost to the UK taxpayer.

AERALIS is the only British-designed and built jet trainer in development today. Our programme will:

✅ Support 4,000 British jobs
✅ Bring significant investment into the UK
✅ Align with the Government’s Plan for Change
✅ Deliver long-term economic growth, exports, and sovereign capability
✅ Platform UK digital, aerospace and defence excellence around the world.

And bearing in mind the Prime Minister’s statements at Jaguar Land Rover yesterday, it’s also a programme perfectly aligned with the UK Government’s industrial development goals:

“This is a government of industrial renewal.”
“Because my choice, in this volatile world, is to back British brilliance.”
“This country has never waited around for history to shape us. We have shaped history – and we will do so again now.”
“[we shall] rebuild, in defiance of a volatile world, our industrial strength.”
“That is the purpose of this Government.”
