AERALIS TAKES THE STAGE AT THE ROYAL AERONAUTICAL SOCIETY’S FCAS SUMMIT

29 May 2025

AERALIS CEO Tristan Crawford supported the Royal Aeronautical Society’s FCAS Summit held on 21-22 May, speaking on the ‘The Force of Tomorrow’ panel.

Recognised as one of the world’s premier gatherings and facilitated by Rob Courts KC FRAeS, former Aviation Minister. The RAeS FCAS Summit is a high-level, two-day conference that brings together defence leaders and industry experts to discuss the strategic direction for strengthening UK defence capabilities and supply chain resilience.

On the panel, Tristan Crawford was joined by RAF flight training commander, Ian Bews and Ascent’s managing director, Tim James. Together they addressed how the Royal Air Force could work with industry including training service providers and OEMs to unlock the capability and capacity required to recruit, train and retain the personnel of tomorrow to deliver the future of Combat Air.

It was an energising discussion ranging across topics including the measures the RAF is putting in place to attract and develop future recruits, the boundary between military and commercial capability, preparing for uncrewed and crewed flying training, the role of sovereignty in delivering training and how to unlock better availability and scale through bringing commercial thinking into platform design, which is of course, at the very heart of the AERALIS proposition.

This year’s summit proved a highly relevant and critical discussion as the development of the next generation of Combat Air systems across the world is now thoroughly underway.
