AERALIS celebrates amazing summer

30 August 2022

As August draws to a close, the AERALIS team is reflecting on a summer of success, filled with air shows, foreign travels and new partnerships, moving us ever closer to the first flight of our modular jet.

June saw AERALIS attending the Queen’s Birthday Party held at the British Embassy in Paris as part of The Platinum Jubilee celebrations. This occasion gave us the opportunity to reaffirm our relationships and our continuous effort of working alongside our French partners.

Following on from our partnership with Hamble, Paul Holmes, the MP for Eastleigh came to visit the Hamble Aerostructures development facility located in his constituency to see the progress that is being made and learn how the partnership between AERALIS and Hamble will provide employment to the local area.

July promised to be a busy month, with the long-anticipated return of both RIAT and the Farnborough International Airshow. We were thrilled to be able to attend both events alongside the rest of the Defence and Aerospace industry, offering us the chance to show the progress that has been made on our modular jet.

At RIAT, the AERALIS team had the privilege to meet the Red Arrows who stopped by to see the model of the aircraft for themselves and find out a little bit more about the programme. The team was present in the AERALIS chalet to provide further detail, supported by videos, graphics and a scale model of the aircraft, allowing visitors to fully visualise the modularity of the jet and its numerous applications.

After 2 years away, we were eager to attend Farnborough, where AERALIS had the pleasure of signing partnerships with both Stirling Dynamics as an engineering partner that will support our work towards the Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and with Ascent Flight Training with whom we will work closely to support the flying training system of the future.

We look forward to what the rest of the year holds in store for AERALIS and the further announcements to come.
